The 14th of September marks the second #AtopicEczemaDay. At SCARLETRED we work with patients of all kinds of skin diseases including eczema. Eczema is an umbrella term for a group of autoimmune diseases that affect the skin. The most common and chronic form of eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, typically causes patches of dry, itchy skin that may worsen and erupt into a rash when scratched.
The International Alliance of Dermatology Patient Organizations states: “Atopic eczema is much tougher on patients than people understand. It seriously impacts patients’ lives beneath the surface of the skin and can severely affect an individual’s health and overall wellbeing.”
Our team supports #AtopicEczemaDay and sees it as a day to honour atopic eczema patients and their caregivers.
